UPCOMING EVENTS

 

June 4, 2006 Steak and Lobster Feed at 1:00 PM contact Ed Pollock for tickets 978 / 355 – 3061.

Boy Scout Camp Out / Roger King June 10th & 11th. 

 

July 15th Chicken BBQ & Family Fun Day @ noon.  POC is Herm Eck @ 978/ 355 - 9090.

 

July 30th Quabbin Open - Sporting Clay Shoot @ 9:00 AM.  This will be a NSCA Registered Shoot.  POC is Randy Klockers @ 978/ 632 - 8708.  Volunteers are needed especially trappers.

 

Activities

Sportsman’s Challenge was on 21 May – this event is competition between other local clubs – includes; Trap, 22 & Archery shoots. Barre Sportsmen club won this event with Tom Salvador being the number 1 shooter, Fig (John Neri) came in 2nd and young Charlie Hobbs 3rd.

 

* Pistol Shoot with safety instructions was held on 19 May with approximately 10 shooters.  Pete Stalker & Bert DuVernay are trying to get this activity going on a regular schedule.  They even brought extra hand guns & holsters as loaners.

 

* Range – 22 Shoot - Tuesdays at 6:30 P.M. Currently 14 participants.

 

 * Sporting Clays Committee – Roger King reported a profit of $300.00

 

* Trap Committee – trap every Wednesday starting at 7:30 P.M.  Spent $733.00 for shells and some equipment repairs.

 

Archery Committee – shoot every Monday at 6:00 P.M.

 

* Club members gave a big applause of appreciation for all the committees’ hard work!

 

* President Mark Koenig gave an update on the work agreement with the Town of Barre Fire Chief. Submitted all contract quotes as requested by Chief Rogowski

 

*   The Roof Vent work has been completed by Dave & Ray Berard and Mark Koenig will contact Fire Protec to install the Fire Suppression System above the gas stove required by MA State Law.

NEW BUSINESS

 

Club members voted for the following.

·        New member – None.

·        Voted to let Dane Stolgitis to run a cancer benefit at N/C.

·        Approved Randy Klockers proposal to hold a NSCA Registered Sporting Clay Shoot on July 30th to raise money for the Fire Protection system.

·        Voted to rent the club to Jason Pimental for a wedding rehearsal on September 16th.

 

CLUB MEMBERSHIP DUES!  Very important to fill out the forms – we have a lot of wrong addresses.  If you don’t have them in now you will have to start over as a new member.
